Competition Winners

The Wimborne Art Club Pop-up exhibition on 23rd August saw the club celebrating 50 years of art. To mark the event the club challenged it's members to submit an art work on the theme of 'celebration' to be judged by the Mayor and Mayoress of Wimborne on the day.

The Mayor, Cllr Jeff Hart and Mayoress Barbara Hart found the judging a challenge given the high standard of the entries. Eventually the winners were chosen.

Third place, Anne Gooch for her painting of students celebrating their exam results.

Second place, Maria Cooper for Wimborne High Street with bunting.

First place, Hilary Foley for the majesty of the composition and the celebration bunting.

Celebrating 50 Years of Art

Wimborne Art Club are celebrating 50 years of being ‘passionate about art’. Founded in 1975 the idea was to provide a forum for members to share their enthusiasm for painting and this still holds true today. The club has served as a hub for artists of all ages and levels; fostering creativity and camaraderie.

Meeting every second Thursday, members are offered a variety of activities, including painting demonstrations and workshops in various mediums and subject matter, as well as more craft based activities such as pop up cards and gel plate printing.

The club organises various events, including exhibitions displaying the work of its members and engaging with the wider community. If you would like to find out more or pop in for a taster session.
